Greenfield’s Aaron Stone became the first area road race winner of 2013 on Tuesday morning when he crossed the finish line in 36 minutes, 7 seconds to capture the annual Sawmill River 10K Run in Montague Center.

The Montague Parks & Recreation Department hosts the annual event, which drew 166 runners this season, with all proceeds going toward the Sponsor-A-Child Scholarship Program. Stone was slightly slower than 2012 winner Andrew Best, who won with a time of 34:53, but finished faster than 2011 winner Christopher Gould, who finished in 36:23.

Lauren Ross of Wilbraham was the women’s winner with a time of 43:24.

Here’s a rundown of the divisional winners:

• Youth — Female: Madi Eline of Southampton, 45:27. Male: Charlie Hale of Florence, 38:17.

• Open — Female: Ross. Male: Stone.

• Master — Female: Madeline Nagy of Hatfield, 45:49. Male: Marc Guillaume of Greenfield, 36:51.

• Senior — Female: Debra Hevey of Chicopee, 49:14. Male: Mark Billings of Elgin, Ill., 42:35.

• Senior-Plus — Female: Deb Schilling of South Deerfield, 56:39. Male: Richard Larsen of Shelburne Falls, 38:40.
