Solar evaluation team to make recommendation to Sunderland board
SUNDERLAND — The evaluation team that will choose a solar farm developer will meet one more time before making its recommendation to the Board of Selectmen.
According to Town Administrator Margaret Nartowicz, the team will meet next week.
Once it reaches a consensus on which developer has the best plan for the town, it will meet Oct. 15 with the selectmen.
The evaluation team bases its advice on the proposals that most benefit the town in cost and energy savings.
The team originally planned to make its final recommendation on Sept. 24.
The three solar developers being vetted include the Real Thing of Nashua, N.H., Fischbach & Moore Electric Group of Boston and Broadway Electrical Co. Inc., also of Boston.
The developers had five sites to make proposals for a future solar farm: the Sunderland Elementary School, the public safety complex, Bull Hill Road, the capped landfill on Reservoir Road, and town office building and public library.
A public forum on the recommended proposal will be held at the following board meeting, Oct. 22.
