Ashfield author reading at Boswell’s Thursday

Memoir describes her relationship with Orthodox Judaism, family

SHELBURNE FALLS — Susan Reimer-Torn, author of “Maybe Not Such a Good Girl,” will read from her new book at Boswell’s Books on Thursday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m.

“Maybe Not such a Good Girl” describes the author’s leaving her Orthodox Jewish religion and family in New York to follow her youthful dreams of independence as a dancer in France. Years later, she finds herself drawn back to reconsider the life she left behind. Reimer-Torn has homes in Ashfield and NYC, and divides her time between both places.

She will talk about her book, answer questions and sign copies. Boswell’s is located at 10 Bridge St. The event is free and open to the public.
