Vlad Popusoi won three events and set a site record in the pole vault as Greenfield High School bested Pioneer Valley Regional School, 921/ 2-521/2, in a IL boys’ track and field meet Monday afternoon in Northfield.

Popusoi cleared 14 feet in the pole vault to set a Northfield site record. Popusoi also leapt a personal-best 39-6 in the triple jump, and captured the 400 in 60.6 seconds. Veniam Darmanchev won a pair of events for the Green Wave with a victory in the javelin (132-0) and the shot put (42-61/2).

Will Borcy won the 800 for Greenfield in 2:26.5, David Giurgiu won the 2-mile in 14:11.7, and Scote Grote won the discus in 103-5.

Darion Sadri and Dan Bordner each won three events for Pioneer. Sadri won the long jump in 20-61/2, the 100 in 11.8 seconds, and the 200 in 24.2 seconds. Bordner won the high jump at 6-0 and swept the hurdles with a time of 16.7 seconds in the 110 high hurdles, and a time of 66.7 in the 400 intermediates. Cody Wickline won the mile in 5:36.

Mohawk 126, Athol 19 — Mohawk Trail Regional High School clinched a share of the Intercounty League title with a 126-19 verdict over Athol High School on Monday in Buckland.

The Warriors (6-0, 5-0 IL) were led by Leroy Page and Josh Rode, each of whom claimed three individual wins. Page earned firsts in the javelin (160-9), discus (109-8) and 100 meters (12.1), while Rode claimed top honors in the triple jump (37-3), mile (4:54.4) and 400 intermediate hurdles (65.4).

Amar Abbatiello captured the pole vault (11-6) and 110 high hurdles, while Cam Olanyk took the 800 (2:08.2) and two-mile (11:17.1), Eli Shearer won the long jump (17-111/ 4), Matt Walsh was first in the 200 (24.2) and Jacob Cross was best in the high jump (5-10).

The Red Raiders won two events — Tanner Pavalionis took the 400 meters (56.6) and Travis Heath was first in the shot put (39-91/4).

Mohawk hosts Greenfield on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Mahar 110, FC Tech 35 — Leo Jillson, Andrew Wagner and Angel Biegen each won two events Monday afternoon to lead Mahar Regional School to a 110-35 IL boys’ track and field victory over Franklin County Technical School at the Woodward Complex in Orange.

Jillson won a pair of throwing events with a javelin toss of 140-9 and a shot put distance of 39-11, while Biegen swept the leaping events with a distance of 19-43/4 in the long jump and a distance of 40-1/4 in the triple jump. Wagner picked up one win on the track with a time of 24.5 seconds in the 200, while his other win came in the field with a jump of 5-6 in the high jump.

Mahar had six individuals win one event on the day. Ethan Nye won the 400 in 56.1, Issak Reinikainen won the 800 in 2:19.6 and Pat Richard won the 2-mile in 11:30.3. Mahar swept the hurdling events as Dan Bergman won the 110 highs in 17.8 seconds, and Nick Stafford won the 400 intermediates in 69.8. Russell Grasso captured the discus in 110-2.

Alex Giurgiu won the pole vault at 10-6 for Franklin Tech, Aaron Moore won the mile in 5:18.4, and Owen Ortiz won the 100 in 11.7.
