Bulletin Board: Bresciano drops Country Club ace
Tom Bresciano carded his first-ever hole-in-one on Tuesday when he drained his tee shot on the par-3 15th at the Country Club of Greenfield.
Bresciano used a 9-iron to knock in his shot on the 155-yard hole. The feat was witnessed by Colin Hanley and Dan Smith.
Thomas Memorial men’s
Chris Varilly and Eric Adams both carded a 36 to share low gross in the Thomas Memorial Men’s Golf League on Monday in Turners Falls.
Darren Lenois was closest to the pin on No. 7 (4-2).
Mark K Memorial mixed
Brian Smith, Matt Llewelyn, Ron Bovat and Donna Yetter combined for a net 59 to take first place in the Mark K Memorial Mixed Golf League Monday at Oak Ridge Golf Club in Gill.
Second place went to Jon Snow, Ron Aleman, Dave McCarthy and Sylvia O’Neil with a 62.
Aronstam Memorial Tourney
The Marshall Aronstam Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will take place on June 14 at Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst.
The event is a four-person scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Cost is $300 per foursome or $75 per individual and includes 18 holes, golf cart, dinner and dancing. The meal and dancing with DJ Bobby C will take place at the South Deerfield Polish Club at 6 p.m. and anyone wishing to purchase a meal-only ticket can do so for $15. There will also by raffles, prizes and awards.
Hole sponsors are also being sought and cost $50 for one sign or $100 for two signs. Field is limited to the first paid 22 foursomes.

Frontier middies win
Ella Deane smacked a single, double, grand slam and drove in six runs to power the Frontier Middle School softball team to a five-inning, 22-5 win over Great Falls Middle School on Tuesday in Turners Falls.
Kelsey Jarvis and Sarah Zoly both added three hits for the winners.
Cassidhe Wozniak went 2-for-2 with a double for Great Falls.
Jason Quinn struck out eight in three innings to lead Northfield Blue to a 13-1 win over Winchester in a Tri-County Cal Ripken League Minor Division game Tuesday in Northfield.
Nate Fuess struck out four in two scoreless innings in the win. Sean Allen went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a single, and Joe Kirly added a three-run single.
Kevin Patterson and Matt Lambert combined to strikeout five in the losing effort.
Elsewhere, Caleb Seaman roped a grand slam homer to lead visiting Bernardston Mowry & Schmidt to a 17-9 win over Erving at Zilinski Field.
Greenfield Minor League
Derek Lenois struck out seven in three innings for the win and Joey Brook collected two hits to help Tognarelli Heating over Rotary Club, 11-7, in a Greenfield Minor League Triple-A Division youth baseball game Tuesday night at Lunt Field.
T.J. Thibeault fanned six in three innings of relief to earn the save.
Tyler Podolski tripled and struck out six on the mound for Rotary. Brodie Gagne was the losing pitcher.
Elsewhere, Casey Christi, Ezra Christie and Alex Sulda combined for a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lead Aubuchon Hardware over D&D Drywall, 10-4.
Sulda added a single for the winners.
Chris Bostrom and Drew Conant had D&D’s only hits.
Finally, Freedom Credit Union edged Ninety-Nine Restaurant, 9-8, as Dylan Demers and Austin Demers both recorded two hits and Ethan Bross added an RBI double for the winners.
Brandon Royal singled, homered and knocked in three runs as the Deerfield Royals posted a 5-4 win over Whately in a Frontier Cal Ripken Minor Division youth baseball game Tuesday night at Memorial Field in South Deerfield.
Niko Lorantos had a double and an RBI, Jake Whitney added a single and an RBI, and Brady Finch doubled for the Royals.
Rohan Edwards struck out five and picked up the win in relief. Whiney got the save.
On Monday, Ethan Machon finished with three doubles and one single to lead Paciorek Electric to a 14-4 win over Northampton in a Frontier Cal Ripken Major Division game.
Max Edwards and Owen Morse combined to strikeout 10 in the win. Porter Clancy tripled and singled for Paciorek, Matt Como homered as part of a two-hit effort, and Edwards added three hits. DJ Dragecevich doubled, and Morse, Dylan Martin, Ethan Russell and Owen Whidden each collected one hit.
Jankowski Plumbing lost to Hadley Young Men’s Club, 5-4, in Frontier 50/70 Cal Ripken Baseball action Tuesday night at Sunderland Town Hall Field.
Sam Battisti paced Jankowski’s offense with a solo home run. Thomas Graves had a double, and Nick Jarvis and Ben Bardwell each added RBI singles.
Jared Vielmetti-Perusse struck out five in the loss.
Aidan Machalek had three hits and Dylan Fil belted a two-run homer for Hadley YMC.
Elsewhere, New England Greenscape dropped an 8-7 decision to Hadley Police Association in Hadley.
Ben Morse tripled and singled, and Garrett DeForest and Dylan Apanell both finished with two hits for NEG.
DeForest, Morse and Tynan Creagh combined for 12 strikeouts in the loss.
Newt correction, omission
Due to a reporting error, the score of Monday night’s Newt Guilbault Community League game was incorrect in Tuesday’s edition of The Recorder. Pipione’s Sport Shop defeated Montague Elks Lodge, 5-4.
In addition to his single and two-run home run, Jacob Sak of Montague Elks Lodge also tripled and drove in two runs. The triple was inadvertently omitted from the story.
Abby Briggs had a single, double and three RBIs to help the Northfield Cougars defeat Vernon (Vt.), 15-10, in a Tri-County League youth softball game Tuesday night in Northfield.
Tayla Sadlowski collected three hits and one RBI, Zara Hervieux added two hits and one RBI, and winning pitcher Stephanie Scoville smacked an RBI triple.
Lauren Carpenter singled and Maggie Lonardo struck out four for Vernon.
