Letter: Experience we need
Isaac Mass has the experience to be our next councilor at-large. He served four previous terms on the council: rwo under the former 27-member council with our Board of Selectmen and two as an at-large councilor with a mayor. Mass served as chair of both the Economic Development Committee and Ways and Means Committee. Mass worked his way up to the council, first serving on the Planning Board and Open Space and Recreation Committee as they prepared our last Master Plan. When Isaac Mass stepped down five years ago, he continued to serve out of the spotlight on the Board of License Commissioners.
Isaac Mass has experience working well with regional and state partners. He was the Greenfield Planning Board’s liaison to the Franklin County Regional Planning Board. Mass became active in the Franklin County Selectmen’s Association, when they admitted the at-large councilors. In the Massachusetts Municipal Association, Isaac Mass was a leader serving two terms on the Board of Governors for Town Finance committees.
Mass has a great deal of real world experience, too. He worked in the retail, hospitality and theater industries to work his way through college. He also spent eight years as an infantryman in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, deploying as a peacekeeper in Bosnia in 2001. After graduation, Mass worked as a real estate agent with the largest sale in Franklin County history. Now he is an attorney with his own downtown office doing not only real estate, but also working with clients in the District Court and the Family and Probate Court. Mass has been recognized by BusinessWest as one of their 40 under 40 for his work with indigent veterans.
June 10, I am going to the Grange Hall on Chapman Street and voting for Isaac Mass and experience.
