Bulletin Board: UMass stays perfect in A-10, smacks St. Bonaventure
Sam Rush, Katie Ferris and Ellie Bullitt each scored three times on Friday as the No. 11 UMass women’s lacrosse team drubbed St. Bonaventure, 21-8, in a Atlantic 10 game at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
A total of 14 players scored goals in the win, which improved UMass to 15-1 on the season and 6-0 in the A-10, clinching UMass at least a share of the regular season title.
UMass heads to Duquesne on Sunday at noon for the regular-season finale.
Tryouts for the American Legion Senior and Junior division teams will get underway today at Veterans Memorial Field in Greenfield.
The Senior Legion team will start at 1 p.m. and the Junior Legion program will begin at 2:45. A rain date will be held on Sunday.
Tryouts will continue on May 3 and May 4 at the same time and place.
Players should bring birth certificates, gloves and cleats to practice.

Turners hockey event
The Turners Falls High School hockey team is holding its 11th annual fundraising event on May 3 at the French King Entertainment Center.
The event is a comedy ESP/Hypnosis show starring Bruce James. There will be pasta stations provided by Myers Catering and tickets are $30 per person.
The show is for ages 18 and up, and reservations should be made for groups of eight or more. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show is at 9. There will also be raffle drawings for Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots items as well as other items.

Keene opener tonight
The Keene (N.H.) Men’s Softball League will celebrate its opening weekend tonight at Wheelock Field.
A New England Patriots cheerleader will throw out the first pitch for the league at 6 p.m. and will stick around for two hours signing autographs and handing out squad posters.
The league will also have T-shirts available to help fund the event.
Northfield Mount Hermon School doubled up Cushing Academy, 12-6, in a girls’ prep lacrosse game Friday in Ashburnham.
NMH is now 4-5 on the season.
Frontier 9s win
Quinn McNutt scored a pair of goals on Tuesday night to lead Frontier to a 4-2 win over West Side Power in a Pioneer Valley Junior Soccer League Under-9 boys’ soccer game in Sunderland.
Shane Prusak and Chanhee Son each added one goal in the victory. McNutt and Dashiell Filas Polson split time in net and combined to make seven saves.
Turners Suburban tryouts
The Turners Falls 14-and-under Suburban League tryouts will be held May 3 from noon to 2 p.m. at Turners Falls High School.
One parent or guardian must be present after tryouts for a quick overview of the summer league. A player is eligible if she didn’t turn 15 before Jan. 1.
League play begins on June 16, with playoffs starting Aug. 4. Games are played on Mondays and Thursdays.

Registration is now open for the Greenfield Recreation Department Tee-Ball program.
The program, open to boys and girls ages 5 to 7, takes place at Green River Park and Greenfield Middle School on Saturdays from May 3 through June 7 from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
Registrations are being taken at the Greenfield Town Hall Citizen Service Center or The Recreation Department at the Greenfield Youth Center on Sanderson Street.
Registration fee is $30 per child for Greenfield residents and $35 for nonresidents. Volunteer coaches are needed.

Skroski Memorial tourney
The second-annual Chief John F. Skroski Memorial Wiffleball Tournament will be held on May 10 at 128 Christian Lane in Whately.
The event starts at 9 a.m. and four teams will start at each field, with the top two teams advancing to the next round.
Entry fee is $15 per person, and each team has a maximum of three players.
Funds raised benefit two annual scholarships in Skroski’s name for a graduating basketball player at Frontier Regional School and Hampshire Regional High School.
Registration deadline is May 5 at 9 p.m.
