Powers Institute museum opens Sunday for season
BERNARDSTON — The town’s Historical Society museum, the Powers Institute, will open for its six-month season Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m. The museum, located on the second floor of the former town high school building at 20 Church St., served the town as a school from 1857 to 1957. One of the museum rooms is set up as a 19th-century classroom.
The attendant Sunday will be Lou Atherton. Entrance is off Library Street, where there is parking. The museum is free and open to the public, and is fully accessible.
The museum will be open the first Sunday of every month through October.
