21st annual Chili Cook Off: Sunday, Jan. 29, 4 to 6:30 p.m., The “Eagles” in Shelburne Falls, 52 State St. Sponsored by Friends of the Charlemont Fairgrounds. Entrants must arrive by 3:30 p.m. and bring a minimum of 2 gallons of chili in an electric crock pot. A $7 fee for those who want to sample a large variety of locally prepared chilis and cast a vote a favorite. No charge to sample if you enter a chili. Weekly free raffle for a frozen Diemand Farm turkey: For the first time ever, Diemand Farm has too many turkeys. Diemand Farm is holding a weekly free raffle. Every Monday through Feb. 20, a Diemand Farm customer will win a free frozen Diemand Farm turkey. Sizes will vary as they are available. To enter: visit Diemand Farm Store at 126 Mormon Hollow Road, Wendell and fill out a raffle slip with your name and phone number. Winners will be called during business hours every Monday. Prize turkey must be picked up at the farm store before the next drawing. Drawings are Jan. 16, 23, 30 and Feb. 6, 13, and 20. All Diemand Farm turkeys are inspected by Real Diemand Grandmas.
