Thomas Houston, 48, of Phillips Street, Greenfield. Found responsible for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Deerfield. Filed with defendant’s consent until 4/13/18, and decriminalized, to wit, converted to a civil offense. Found not responsible for violation of state highway traffic regulations.

Sun Jensen, 39, of Bridge Street, Shelburne Falls. Pleaded guilty to assault and battery on family/household member in Buckland. Placed on probation until 4/12/19. Must have no alcohol and subject to screens. Must have no abuse of the victim. Must attend and complete the certified batterer’s program, and must report to probation office daily until a Scram unit is available for application. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150. Must pay probation supervision fee of $65 per month.

Jody A. Rattigan, 51, of North Hatfield. Pleaded innocent to being the owner of, or the person in control of, a motor vehicle, did knowingly permit such vehicle to be operated by a person who was unlicensed or whose license had been suspended or revoked. Aaron A. Lastowski, 39, of Mill Village Road, South Deerfield. Pleaded innocent to accosting or annoying another person. Released on personal recognizance. Jovon Van Ghilder, 33, of Brattleboro, Vt. Pleaded not guilty to assault and battery on a person 60 or over, with injury, and disorderly conduct in Deerfield. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 12/5/17 for pretrial conference. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

James E. Gaffey, 39, of Camp Avenue, Greenfield. Pleaded guilty to malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Allison N. Boswell, 19, of Lower Street, Buckland. Admitted to sufficient facts for negligent operation of a motor vehicle in Northfield. Must take and complete the safe driver education program. Found not responsible for having a motor vehicle that isn’t meeting Registry of Motor Vehicles safety standards, and miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation. Nathan T. Franklin, 25, of Conway Street, Greenfield. Pleaded innocent to malicious destruction of property over $250 value, and attempting to commit a crime, to wit, pushing in an air conditioner to commit breaking and entering a building with intent to commit a felony, but failed to commit such offense or was intercepted and prevented to commit the offense in Montague. Bail set at $400 cash or $4,000 surety. Continued to 12/5/17 for pretrial conference. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Nathan T. Franklin, 25, of Conway Street, Greenfield. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery on family/household member, larceny over $250, strangulation or suffocation, and intimidating a witness, juror, police, or court official in Greenfield, different date from previous case. Elaine S. Ivanowski, 27, of South Main Street, Athol. Charges of assault and battery on family/household member, and reckless endangerment of a child, were not prosecuted, as, according to a statement made by a counsel from the district attorney’s office, the adult victim has asserted a valid Fifth Amendment privilege on the record and the Commonwealth can’t prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt at this time. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Michael D. Chamberlain, 29, of West Royalston Road, Athol. Pleaded guilty to assault and battery on family/household member. Sentenced to 18 months in the house of correction, suspended. Placed on probation until 4/23/19, and must complete the Convictions for Firearm Disqualification program. Pleaded guilty to intimidating a witness, juror, police or court official. Placed on probation until 4/23/19, with victim-witness assessment of $90, with same conditions as in first count. Pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of property over $250 value. Robert M. Davis, 46, of Hapgood Street, Athol. Charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a beer bottle, was not prosecuted, as, according to a statement made by a counsel from the district attorney’s office, the adult victim has asserted a valid Fifth Amendment privilege on the record.

Scott Modica, 23, of West River Street, Orange. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery on family/household member, and strangulation or suffocation. Released on personal recognizance. Inquiry made by the court under 276, section 56A. A C276, section 56A form was filed by the Commonwealth. An allegation of abuse under 276, section 56A, was found. Continued to 11/20/17 for pretrial conference. Must pay counsel fee of $150, or perform 12 hours of community service, as three hours are waived from the regular 16 hours.

Mike A. Carrasquillo-Romero, 25, of White Pond Road, Athol. Pleaded guilty to assault and battery on family/household member. Must pay counsel fee of $150, or perform 16 hours of community service.

Randy Marion, 43, of Crescent Street, Athol. Pleaded guilty to intimidating a witness, juror, police, or court official. Placed on probation until 8/28/18, with victim-witness assessment of $90, concurrent with probation on another case, and must have mental health evaluation and take any after-care recommended. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Jennifer Desroches, 38, of School Street, Athol. Pleaded innocent to improper use of a credit card over $250, identity fraud, and larceny over $250. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 12/1/17 for pretrial conference. Must Pay $50 default warrant fee.

Theresa M Therien, 54, of Prospect Street, Turners Falls. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery on family/household member, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, an OC spray can. Released on personal recognizance. Must have no alcohol, and subject to screens/tests, and must report to probation daily until the Scram program is available and established. A C276, section 56A form was filed by the Commonwealth. An allegation of abuse under 276, section 56A was found. Continued to 12/7/17 for pretrial conference.
