John P. Knight, 46, of Chapman Street, Greenfield. Pleaded innocent to having operated a motor vehicle after the license to operate a motor vehicle had been revoked by reason of his or her having been found to be an habitual traffic offender, operating under the influence of drugs, and possessing a Class A drug, to wit, heroin. Bail set at $500, and was already posted. Must have no drugs, and subject to screens. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150 and $50 counsel contribution.

Orange, Oct. 16, Judge David S. Ross

Peter D. Hickey, 55, of Vine Street, Athol. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery, amended from assault and battery on family/household member. Released on personal recognizance. A C276, section 56A form, was filed by the Commonwealth. Continued to 12/18/17 for pretrial conference.

Lawrence J. Hanshaw, 46, of Central Street, Athol. Pleaded guilty to shoplifting, at Cumberland Farms in Athol. Fined $50, plus $12.50 surfine, and victim-witness assessment of $50.

Nathan Hanshaw, 26, of Central Street, Athol. Pleaded guilty to shoplifting, at Cumberland Farms in Athol. Fined $50, with $12.50 surfine and victim-witness assessment of $50.

Jessie Reed, 46, of Rindge, N.H. Charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended in Shutesbury by state police. Dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Felicia M. Shufelt, 32, of Green Street, Athol. Found responsible for being an operator of a motor vehicle while sending/reading an electronic message. Fined $100. Charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Zachary Drew, 25, of James Lane, Orange. Pleaded innocent to keeping a noisy and disorderly house, and being a person under 21 procuring liquor. Bail set at $100 cash as agreed. Continued to 12/5/17 for pretrial conference. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Greenfield, Oct. 17, Judge William Mazanec III

Stephen J. Hosier, 31, of Conway Street, Greenfield. Pleaded guilty to violation of an abuse prevention order, in Montague. Sentenced to 18 months in the house of correction, suspended, straight probation, until 4/16/19. Must stay 100 yards away from and have no contact with the victim, and 100 yards from a specified address in Montague. Must take and complete the certified batterer’s intervention program. Must have mental health evaluation and take any after-care recommended. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Stephen J. Hosier, 31, of Conway Street, Greenfield. Pleaded guilty to violation of an abuse prevention order, in Montague, different date from previous case. Sentenced to 18 months, suspended, with straight probation until 4/16/19, with all the same conditions as in previous case. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Greenfield, Oct. 19, Judge Michael Ripps

Jordan Hall, 19, of Main Street. Charlemont. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery on family/household member in Colrain by state police. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 11/29/17 for pretrial conference. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Robert Lapinski, 53, of Montague City Road, Turners Falls. Pleaded innocent to operating under the influence of liquor or 0.08 percent, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation. Released on personal recognizance, 11/29/17 for pretrial conference. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Jeremiah McLenithan, 38, of North County Road, Greenfield. Pleaded innocent to operating under the influence of liquor or 0.08 percent, marked lanes violation, and being an operator improperly using a mobile phone. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 11/29/17 for pretrial conference.

James R. Anderson, 66, of Highland Avenue, Northfield. Admitted to sufficient facts for operating under the influence of liquor or 0.08 percent, sufficient facts found, but continued without a finding until 10/18/18, with 45 days mandatory loss of license, plus OUI fee of $250, OUI victims assessment of $50, head-injury assessment of $250, and victim-witness assessment of $50. Must take and complete the driver alcohol education program, and pay the fee of $726.80. Must have mental health evaluation and take any after care recommended. Found not responsible for marked lanes violation, Charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle dismissed on request of the Commonwealth. Must pay probation supervision fee of $65 per month.

Jillian R. Williams, 35, of Aster Court, Greenfield. Found responsible for shoplifting, from Dollar General in Greenfield, filed with defendant’s consent, until 4/20/18, and decriminalized, to wit, converted to a civil offense.

Ronell Sumlin, 31, of Fourth Street, Turners Falls. Charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Greenfield. Dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Rene H. LeBlanc, 27, of Fitchburg. Failure to provide a DNA database sample in Greenfield by state police. Dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Neftali Nunez, 25, of Springfield. Charges of uninsured motor vehicle, operating with suspended registration, and operating a motor vehicle with license suspended in Whately all dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Samantha Ziencina, 19, of Feeding Hills. Pleaded innocent to operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, being a person under 21 in possession of liquor, and speeding in Bernardston by state police. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 12/1/17 for pretrial conference.

Mark E. Buxton Jr., 38, of Walnut Hill Road, Orange. Charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended in Warwick dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Rayanna M. Gidney, 34, of Maple Street, Athol. Pleaded innocent to leaving the scene of property damage, failure to notify the Registry of Motor Vehicles of a name or address change, and for backing a vehicle on/off ramp on a state highway. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 11/17/17 for pretrial conference.

Cassandra Race, 22, of Drury Avenue, Athol. Charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Jason E. Drake, 42, of West River Street, Orange. Charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Erving dismissed on request of the Commonwealth. Found not responsible for charges of open container of marijuana in a vehicle, and speeding in violation of special regulation.
