CHARLEMONT — A man was airlifted from Hawlemont Regional School Saturday morning following a mountain biking accident at Berkshire East.

According to a post on the Hawley Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page, the biker suffered injuries to his head and shoulder, and also sustained two leg fractures.

Hawley firefighters helped extricate the man at Berkshire East, after which Colrain Ambulance, assisted by paramedics from Highland Ambulance, transported him to the landing zone at Hawlemont Regional School, the Facebook post reads.

A LifeNet helicopter arrived to transport the biker to an Albany hospital.
