Animation talk Weds. in Shelburne

SHELBURNE — Working from their Shelburne Falls studio, artists Aya Yamasaki and Jason Brown have an international following for their hand-drawn animations, illustrations and comics.

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, they will present a program for the September meeting of the Shelburne Falls Area Women’s Club. \

“Opertura: the Art of Animation” will discuss their creative process, illustrated with a sampling of short films.

Their work draws from the natural and magical realms as well as folk storytelling.

The program at the Fellowship Hall on Little Mohawk Road in Shelburne Center is free and open to the public.

It will begin at 7:30 p.m., immediately following the monthly meeting of the Shelburne Falls Area Women’s Club.

Members, guests and those interested in possible membership in the women’s club are invited to a potluck beginning at 6 p.m.

The club’s business meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Those attending the potluck should bring a dish to share based on the first letter of their last name. Names A-G (main dish); H-M (salad); N-Z (dessert).
