GREENFIELD — Dinosaurs will come alive this weekend at the fairgrounds.

The family fun drive-by show “Jurassic Wonder” will take place at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 89 Wisdom Way, on Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine.

“It is a good way to get out with the kids,” said Ted Hill, creator of Jurassic Wonder. “Families will have fun and spend some time learning and looking at dinosaurs.”

The show features robotic light-up dinosaurs that families can drive past and enjoy. The drive-through includes an interactive audio component that people can download to their phones and play through their vehicle’s speakers.

Jurassic Wonder, a touring show based in based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, entertains families throughout the Northeast and Midwest. The show is recommended for children ages 2 to 12. Hill noted this event is a popular activity for grandparents to do with their grandchildren, as it doesn’t require walking or parking their vehicle.

Hill has a background in children’s entertainment. He shifted from organizing magic shows and circuses to focusing on dinosaurs as the creatures became more popular.

Jurassic Wonder began as an indoor interactive show in 2018 that took place in gymnasiums but it switched to a drive-through model during the pandemic. The outdoor model was so successful it has continued ever since.

Tickets cost $12 per vehicle. Buying tickets in advance at jurassicwonder.com is recommended.
