Bank team volunteers at Habitat for Humanity build

NORTHAMPTON — The senior leadership team at Greenfield Cooperative Bank recently traded their suits for paint brushes and joined forces with Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity to help put some finishing touches on a new home being built on Burts Pit Road in Northampton by dozens of community volunteers alongside the future homeowners.

“At GCB, we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” Tony Worden, president and CEO of Greenfield Cooperative Bank, said in a statement. “Habitat for Humanity’s mission of creating affordable homeownership opportunities aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re honored to be a part of building a brighter future with the family who will live in this home.”

The bank’s leadership team put a coat of paint on the home’s interior walls. This hands-on effort followed a previous commitment of $10,000 from Greenfield Cooperative Bank toward the project.

“Working alongside our team to help paint this home was incredibly rewarding,” Jane Wolfe, executive vice president of residential lending, said in a statement. “This experience solidified our commitment to supporting Pioneer Valley Habitat’s mission, and I can’t wait to see this family thrive in their new home.”
