Warwick Community School

Describing our 20-year-old modern school building as the former Warwick Community School is confusing and to some of us offensive. We and the state Green Community program have invested tens of thousands of dollars in energy saving measures. We have kept up all our fire alarm and fire suppression testing; kitchen inspections and inspections required for continued use as a school.

While our school has become one more former Pioneer Regional School District campus, the Town of Warwick has not changed this facility’s name or our plans. From the Selectboard to the citizenry we are determined to reopen Warwick Community School. We are unbending in our insistence that our young kids not be bussed out of town.

So, while making our case with the state for independence, Warwick operates the public water system at WCS as before and declined an invitation to dumb down our drinking water testing. Town Meeting voted to leave the district as “expeditiously as possible.” That has not changed.
