Russian election assault poses quandary for campaigns

Russian activities aren’t that much of a threat to our democracy. The real threat is the conduct that the hacked emails revealed. Greater still is the threat of having social media companies censor content it determines is rude, confrontational, sourced from political activists, false, or any other reason. After all, that is what political activists from all over the world (including our own political parties) have been doing since Al Gore invented the World Wide Web.

We just have to remember what my father told me while reading the “Greenfield Recorder Gazette” many years ago, “Son, believe none of what you hear or read and only about half of what you see.”
