Letter to Greenfield City Councilors

Back in March, the Greenfield City Council voted to accept funding for a new library as part of a “compromise deal” to remove the French King Overlay District from the city’s zoning ordinance and to triple the threshold for a Major Development Review (MDR).

Subsequent to that, there was a citizen’s referendum on the library funding, placing that issue on the November ballot for the citizens of Greenfield to decide and effectively ”de-coupling” the library and zoning issues.

I am requesting that the City Council at their Sept. 18 meeting place the two zoning questions on the November ballot as well. That would allow the citizens of Greenfield to vote an “up or down” on the zoning questions at the same time but separately from the library vote.
