Please support the Greenfield Recorder's COVID-19 coverage

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the local economy — and many of the advertisers who support our work — to a near standstill. During this unprecedented challenge, we continue to make our coronavirus coverage free to everyone at because we feel our most critical mission is to deliver vital information to our communities. If you believe local news is essential, especially during this crisis, please donate.

Thank you for your support of the Recorder.

Satisfy your curiosity for history

Thank you, most kindly, for the great article about the Historical Society of Greenfield’s “An Industry Forged” in the Saturday, May 11 edition. Richie Davis’ article was an excellent report. Were you unable to make it over for the opening? Have you always wondered what’s inside that gorgeous old brown Victorian on the corner of Church and Union? Not to worry! The exhibit will be up for a year. Stop by on the first and second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We also have workdays on Friday during those hours, and we welcome visitors during those times as well. Or email for a private appointment:

Have an interest in local history — the past and the present? We would love to have you volunteer! We have many different types of tasks that need doing! Come on over and satisfy your curiosity about our lovely building and an important part of Greenfield, and America’s, industrial history.
