Precinct 3: Vote for Taunette Greene

Published: 9/12/2019 9:27:44 AM

I have known Taunette ‘Tawny’ Greene for well over 20 years, as she worked to fill my prescriptions as a pharmacy technician at Greenfield’s Stop & Shop. The first thing I can say about Tawny is she is a very committed and professional person; she’s been at Stop & Shop close to 40 years. She also is extremely loyal to her fellow employees as she rose through the ranks of Local 1459 as a steward now serving as the local’s vice president.

She knows the challenges of serving her membership while at the same time seeking compromises with management when they make sense. It’s a difficult job to be sure as I do the same dance every day. Taunette knows first-hand that many residents have to have two and three jobs to make ends meet and so she’ll use that knowledge as Greenfield’s city councilor to work on issues like new affordable housing to attract people to live in Greenfield.

Taunette’s other priorities will be: industrial jobs that pay a living wage; revitalizing our downtown area; civility and transparency in local government. Taunette has never been afraid to fight for the causes she feels that are important like fully funding our schools; bringing in new development to increase our tax base

I urge Greenfield’s residents in Precinct 3 to support and vote for Taunette Greene for city councilor in the Nov. 5 general election.
