Historical Commission Oct. 7 meeting

Published: 10/13/2021 9:02:53 AM

I am totally outraged over the Greenfield Historical Commission’s 6 to 0 vote (1 abstention) to proceed with the demolition of our historic Greenfield Fire Station.

There was effectively no discussion at their meeting following the public hearing on Thursday Oct. 7 from 5 to 6 p.m.

This vote was taken less than two hours after hearing public comments by Greenfield citizens who were overwhelmingly for preserving this building which is beloved by the community.

The members of the Greenfield Historic Commission should all resign or be fired by the mayor as they are obviously no longer dedicated to their own mission statement to identify,

preserve and develop Greenfield’s historic assets as per MSL Chapter 40 or the integrity of our East Main Street Historic District.
