Trick or treat

As I was reading the letter from Darlene Clark (“One bad apple”), I was remembering when I was a little girl living in Quincy we had a dentist who lived on our street who also didn’t give out candy. Most years he had bench seats on his front porch full of all different kinds of comic books ranging from Spider-Man to Little Audrey. We were allowed to pick two.

Boy do I wish I had saved them; it would be nice to revisit my childhood. Then some years he would give out dollar bills, plus what he would put in our UNICEF boxes. I don’t know what a comic book cost today but back then they were 10 cents. Oh the good old days.
