Recently there was a letter to the editor concerning the cost of the new parking garage and its sparse use. I have a suggestion. Remove all the permit parking signs that were installed while the garage and the courthouse were being built. That way everybody would have an equal chance of finding some free on-street parking near to downtown and if those slots become filled, no problem, the late comers and those who want parking closer to where the garage is can use the garage. Personally I see no good reason why some people should get to have permit parking any longer.
