Massachusetts’ Presidential primary Tuesday, March 3, launches a busy election year. The League of Women Voters of Franklin County reminds citizens that the last day to register to vote in the Super Tuesday Presidential primary is Wednesday, Feb. 12.

People can check their registration status or register online at www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/, or you can visit the office of your city or town clerk.

Early voting will be available Feb. 24-28; check your local town or city website for hours. Primary voters will also be choosing representatives to their party’s state committee and to their party’s town committee.

Voters who are not enrolled in a political party, including those enrolled in political designations, may vote in the primary of their choice. The League’s online voter guide, VOTE411.org, has information on the Massachusetts primary election. This guide includes biographical information on the candidates, as well as information on voting. The election information provided by the League is nonpartisan; we never endorse or support parties or candidates.

The state primary election will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1, and the last day to register is Aug. 12. This primary election includes the race for U.S. Senate, as well as any primary contests for representatives to Congress or state senators or representatives. The general election, including the race for President, will be Tuesday, Nov. 3. The last day to register to vote will be Oct. 14. Early voting will be available Oct. 19 through Oct. 30.

The online voter guide, VOTE411.org, will be updated for each of these elections.

The League of Women Voters encourages all citizens to register and to vote in these elections. Marie Gauthier President League of Women Voters of Franklin County
