‘Not journalism’

Published: 6/28/2020 6:44:42 PM

On Tuesday, June 15, you ran an article at the top of your front page under the headline “Is police brutality a local problem?”

According to the article, the local sheriff and the three local police chiefs you interviewed all agreed that police brutality is not a local problem.

Did you speak to anyone else about this question? Did you talk to any local residents? Did you interview any people of color? Based on the content of the article, you did not.

This is not journalism; it is propaganda. Go out and talk to the people impacted by police violence — it’s not like there is any shortage of them.
