Carl Doerner’s My Turn piece, “The Haunting Question” (Nov. 23) shows him still drinking the ”Kool-Aid” after all these years. He doesn’t seem to realize that the sycophant, Pierre Salinger, created the Camelot Myth as a gift to Jackie and her children.
The Chicago mob killed JFK for his betrayal of their agreement (i.e. that the vote would be delivered at the Chicago Convention in exchange for non-interference in their activities. Jack wins the election, appointed Bobby Attorney General and Bob proceeded to prosecute the truckers union. End of story).
The Kennedys were crooks and scoundrels from head to toe. I understand why Carl wants to hold onto the myth, but it’s time to let go.
