A fond farewell

I would like to thank Baystate Franklin Medical Center For taking a chance on me when I moved here from New Jersey 14 yrs ago. It has been my absolute pleasure to work for this wonderful community hospital. The nurses at Baystate Franklin are the best I’ve ever worked with.

I’ve been in health care my entire life, from nursing homes to EMS in NJ, and I can honestly say I have never loved any job more than at BFMC. Everyone here is important.

It takes all of us to accomplish our goal, the safety and care of our patients. The CNAs work tirelessly to care for our patients, the housekeepers who break their backs year after year. No one wants to be in the the ER but being kind and compassionate costs nothing.

It’s time for me to move on. My husband suffered a serious medical emergency in July and has helped me realize that my family should be the most important area of my life.

Nothing is certain, nothing guaranteed in life. Be kind to one another. Offer food to the heroin addict on the corner, don’t judge, we can never know what horrors they’ve endured.

I thank Baystate immensely for the opportunity to serve the community and feel every day when I leave the hospital that I’ve done all I can. I was kind and compassionate to every patient I encountered. And I am very proud of that.

I’ve worked very hard for this hospital, and ran myself ragged on many nights, and felt sometimes that I crawled out of the building. But everyone here does that. It’s our job, and I will miss it more than any other. Thank you.

Special thanks to . Suzanne , Dawn , Tracy , Robin M , Rich, Sarah, Rejauna, Zack, Kelly, Devon,Don, Ashley, and all of our ER team. Our hard-working CNA , Mary H , Laura , Danielle and all the rest, And to our nursing supervisor Jane , who knows everything that’s important. And lastly J Mitko , who appreciated my hard work and was there to tell me at every chance he got, that I was making a difference. Thank you again.
