On Dec. 5 and Dec. 7, the Recorder reported two Open Meeting Law complaints in Greenfield.

Regarding a complaint against the Board of Health, the Recorder reports that Mayor Roxann Wedegartner said the city’s attorney, Jesse Belcher-Timme, plans to meet in executive session with the board to address the matter.

That seems off to me, a closed meeting to discuss an open meeting concern.

Jesse Belcher-Timme is the lawyer who argued that the recent Supreme Court ruling on so-called equity theft doesn’t apply in a court case brought by Greenfield citizens. His argument, which Greenfield citizens pay him for, also seems off to me.

Regarding a complaint against the Planning Board, the Recorder reports that Chairman George Touloumtzis said: “I think the Open Meeting Law is a wonderful standard and I think that seeing as there is a complaint, we want to honor it and give it its due consideration.”

That seems good to me.
