Aldi project does not honor community’s values

I understand that the Greenfield Planning Board will be meeting on Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. in the John Zon Center to discuss the various impacts on our town that an Aldi’s superstore would bring. Please read Al Norman’s July 19 column in the Recorder (“Greenfield downtown is leaking”) and plan to attend this Planning Board meeting to give voice in support of our city’s master plan citing sustainability as its chief planning value.

This proposed project does not honor our community’s values. It ignores traffic concerns, safety concerns of pedestrians, bikers, and cars, environmental concerns, economic concerns impacting downtown revitalization efforts and more. This is our chance to hold the Planning Board accountable for our future. Not just for Greenfield, but all of Franklin County as well.
