Brad Brigham: Trashing of Green River must be stopped

For the last many years, the Recorder thinks it’s great to celebrate the clean up of the Green River. Good people come together and give freely of their time and energy to clean up other people’s criminality. The trashing of the Green River goes on year after year with upright citizens paying the price for the miscreants creating an eyesore. Why not install cameras, capture the license plate number of the vehicle breaking the law and prosecuting the guilty parties? Does this idea make me a mean-spirited person or a common-sense, fair-minded commentator?
I remember fishing the “Green” River every spring as a child and never encountering the kind of trash one routinely stumbles on now. If regular patrol needs to be reinstated during the warm weather months, then so be it: the river is too important not to be treated as a valuable natural resource.
