Critical pipeline reporting

I would like to add to the sentiments in the quote from Attorney Buz Eisenberg that was The Recorder that commended Richie Davis for his work on covering the events pertaining to the pipeline proposal.

You have done a remarkable job in researching, collecting and presenting information about the proposed pipeline over the last two years. It is difficult, even in this day and age of Internet and social media, to keep a pulse on things that are pertinent to our lives.

Through your reporting, you have made that more possible.

Your reporting has been educational as well as informative and has allowed the readers to decide, for themselves, which facts are significant and which are not; which need to be acted upon and which do not. You have also been able to focus on the immediate issues while, at the same time, putting those facts into perspective relative to the bigger picture.

The bottom line is this: Because of your efforts, you have helped to expose effects that could be detrimental to our environment, community, society, and culture. That gives we, the people, the opportunity to make informed decisions, and the opportunity to influence the development and evolution of new innovations before the effects becomes detrimental and/or pervasive.

Marshall McLuhan said it best:(1964: “Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man”) “Control over change would seem to consist in moving not with it but ahead of it.

Anticipation gives the power to deflect and control force.”

Thanks to your efforts, we will stay ahead of change.
