BERNARDSTON — Cushman Library patrons, trustees and staff will be collecting gifts and necessary household items as they sponsor a family of six through the Adopt-A-Family of Franklin County program this holiday season.

The collection event will be ongoing through Wednesday, Dec. 18. Once everything is collected, librarian volunteers will wrap and deliver the gifts to the pick-up location.

“There is a display on our circulation desk and folks can choose from that and then tell us what item(s) they’re getting,” said Cushman Library Director Karen Stinchfield.

This will be the fourth year the library will adopt a family. All are invited to drop by Cushman Library and choose a gift or item(s) to purchase for them. All donated items must be new.

“Getting items in as soon as possible is preferable,” Stinchfield said, as the gifts will be wrapped and delivered for Dec. 19.

Patrons are asked to wait for confirmation before purchasing any items.

For those who would like to furnish a gift, or gifts, drop by the library during open hours. They may also call 413-648-5402 during open hours, so that the library can keep the list current.

A full list of desired items can also be found at the library, or on the Cushman Library Facebook page under “Notes.”

Household items include: a diffuser, a mini-vacuum and towels.

Items for a 39-year-old man: a table lamp, shaving equipment, a size large (34-36) jacket.
