BERNARDSTON — Cushman Library is hosting a visit with Roxann Davis, author of “Nightbeat: A Bailey and Knowles Mystery,” on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m.

According to Cushman Library, Davis’ debut novel follows Devon Bailey, an award-winning crime reporter who is consumed with writing about a string of violent murders of prostitutes for the Quinton Herald.

While her work occupies her every hour, it also helps her move on after the end of her marriage to Ellis Priest, the release states. But when Priest leaves her a desperate voicemail from the county jail, where he’s being held on suspicion of killing professional photographer Carlos Marks, Bailey needs to find out what happened.

Along with discussion of “Nightbeat,” participants may get a sneak peek at what’s to come in Davis’ second book in the series. Copies of “Nightbeat” will be available for purchase and signing.
