Jeremy Currier, 31, of Athol was found guilty of aggravated rape and abuse of a child and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 by a Franklin Superior Court jury this week, after seven hours of deliberation.

He is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Michael Callan in Franklin Superior Court in Greenfield Wednesday at 2 p.m.

The charges were in connection with incidents that occurred in Athol on Nov. 11, 2014. He was indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury on Dec. 18, 2015.

“The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office acknowledges the strength, courage and resolve of the victim in this case to be able to come forward and tell her story,” Assistant Northwestern District Attorney Linda Pisano, who prosecuted the case, said.

“May this trial bring her a feeling that some  measure of justice was achieved.”
