GREENFIELD — The public is invited to a reception for a new art exhibit called the “United Arc Gallery” in the lobby of the Greenfield Savings Bank Main Office Thursday.

The art exhibit is comprised of a collection of works of art by artists who receive services from The United Arc. The pieces in the exhibit were purchased by the bank during The United Arc’s Annual Gala & Auction in September.

“These works allow people to better understand the talents of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and gain familiarity with work of The United Arc,” said John Howland, the president and CEO of Greenfield Savings Bank. “By having them as part of the Bank’s art collection, they will be accessible to the public.”

The reception will run from 4 to 5 p.m.

Founded in 1951, The United Arc has a reputation for providing quality services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization provides services to individuals and their families in Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, and Worcester counties and supports people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving the universal goals of inclusion, choice, and independence.

As a local bank, Greenfield Savings Bank is a strong supporter of the arts and regularly provides display space for works by local artists in the lobbies of the bank offices. GSB is a leader in supporting area community programs and non-profits, such as The United Arc.
