TURNERS FALLS — The White Bridge, which carries Turners Falls Road over the Connecticut River, is closed through Friday, Nov. 10, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) conducts maintenance work.

Traffic is being detoured via the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge. Signs, police details and message boards are positioned to guide drivers through the work area. MassDOT advises drivers to reduce speed and use caution while in the area.

According to MassDOT, the work schedule is weather-dependent and is subject to change without notice.

MassDOT encourages those seeking more information to download the Mass511 mobile app or visit mass511.com to view live cameras, travel times, real-time traffic conditions and project details. Users can subscribe to receive text and email alerts for traffic conditions.

Those who are interested can also dial 511 and select a route to learn real-time conditions, or follow @MassDOT on X (formerly known as Twitter) to receive regular updates on road and traffic conditions.

Efforts to reach a MassDOT spokesperson for more information were unsuccessful by press time on Monday.
