Colrain Fix-It Day set for Saturday

COLRAIN — Instead of throwing their broken items away, community members are invited to bring them to Griswold Memorial Library on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to be repaired at the annual Colrain Fix-It Day.

Volunteer fixers will be on site to help repair small appliances, bicycles, lamps, furniture, jewelry, clothing and more. Fixers can help sharpen knives, restring weed wackers and even teach attendees how to make rugs. The event will also include demonstrations, music, food and raffles.

Parking will be available at Colrain Central School, and shuttles will run back and forth throughout the event. In the event of rain, Colrain Fix-It Day will move to the school.

For more information, or to sign up to be a volunteer fixer, contact Nancy Turkle at nturkle@gmail.com.
