Route 112 reopens

COLRAIN — The state Department of Transportation (MassDOT) reopened Route 112 to through traffic on Nov. 3.

Route 112 was previously closed to through traffic starting Tuesday, Sept. 19, to allow for repair work to be conducted on two bridges.

The work included removing the concrete surface and replacing it with a polymer-modified concrete overlay.

Drivers are advised that there is still work to be done to complete the project and there may be occasional lane reductions and traffic delays.

Officials to speak at Woodlands Nov. 15 meeting

SHELBURNE FALLS — The Woodlands Partnership of Northwest Massachusetts will host its fall board meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shelburne-Buckland Community Center, 53 Main St. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. and a virtual option is available.

The meeting will mark the first time that representatives from new member organizations and towns can vote — this includes Florida, Buckland and the Ohketeau Cultural Center of Ashfield.

Of the 21 eligible towns in the partnership region, 19 have voted to participate to date.

Guest speakers will include Massachusetts Director of Rural Affairs Anne Gobi and Kristen Elechko, governor’s western Massachusetts director. Discussion will be focused on rural needs and opportunities under the administration.
