Sewer work continues on Bridge Street

SHELBURNE FALLS — GEG Associates is continuing sewer work within the intersection of Bridge and Main streets this week, during which time Main Street will be closed up to the parking lot behind Greenfield Savings Bank and the drive-up teller driveway for M&T Bank.

According to a notice from Linda Overing of Breezeway Farm Consulting, who distributes project updates on Shelburne’s behalf, GEG Associates planned to start connecting affected residents and businesses (from Baker Avenue to Mechanic Street) to the temporary water main bypass beginning Tuesday. Access to the properties’ basements/water meters will be required. GEG Associates will coordinate and schedule required access with the property owners, as necessary.

Once all businesses and residents are connected to the temporary water bypass, GEG Associates will begin water main installation at the intersection of Bridge Street and Baker Avenue, tentatively starting Wednesday, and continue work on Bridge Street, toward Mechanic Street, for the rest of the week.

The detour travel route will consist of Mechanic Street, Cross Street and Water Street. Vehicles can still park from Keystone Market to the Iron Bridge on both sides of Bridge Street, but parking between Baker Avenue and Mechanic Street will be limited.

All work is weather dependent, and dates may be extended due to inclement weather. With questions, contact gcg@gcgassociates.net or 978-657-9714.
