HEATH — The Franklin Land Trust is celebrating two recent land aquisitions with special events on Monday and July 29.

A Crowningshield Conservation Area Hike takes place on Monday at 5:30 p.m. Those who attend will get a preview of the trails and see habitat improvements that the Land Trust has made to this old farm. Come prepared for walking on rough terrain. Meet at a pull-off at 112 West Branch Road.

On Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. the 20-acre Mary and Elmer Sherman Conservation Area will be dedicated. Martha McDonough, their daughter, will attend this celebration to honor her parents’ conservation ethic.

The land is open to the public for hiking, hunting and wildlife observation. Remarks will be followed by a brief walk. Meet across the street from Judd Road. For information or directions, call the Franklin Land Trust at 413-625-9151.
