Community development discussion in Buckland

BUCKLAND — The town will hold a public hearing on its fiscal year 2018 Community Development Block Grant application and community development strategy on Tuesday at Town Hall.

Projects under consideration are the reconstruction of a section of William Street and provision of food pantry services for income eligible residents as well as program delivery and general administration expenses. The town will contract with a private consultant to administer this grant. Buckland’s grant request can be for up to $800,000.

The town’s Community Development Strategy, a report which summarizes Buckland’s goals and objectives for community development, will also be discussed.

Mohawk budget talk Wednesday

BUCKLAND — A joint meeting of the Mohawk Trail Regional School District Committee and its Budget Subcommittee will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Mohawk. The meeting includes a full presentation of Mohawk’s proposed budget to the School Committee. The meeting was originally set for Jan. 17, but was postponed due to last week’s snowstorm.

A public hearing on the school budget proposal is scheduled for Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
