Wedding Announcement: Deyo—Houle

Rebecca Anne Deyo of 34 Franklin St. in Shelburne Falls and  Timothy Michael Houle of 158 Sturbridge Road in Holland were married June 29. The 1:30 p.m. ceremony took place at Stanley Park in Westfield. James McKay, a friend of the couple, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Rita Deyo of Shelburne Falls and the late Bernard Deyo. The groom is the son of Gloria Bergeron of Plainfield, Conn. and the late Gerard Houle.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother and late father, whose ashes were placed on the bride and groom’s hands at the alter.

Jillian Houle, daughter of the groom, was the brides-girl. The flower girls were Abigail and Natalie Meaney, nieces of the bride. 

Andrew Houle, son of the groom was the groomsman. Ring security was handled by Andrew Meaney, nephew of the bride. 

A reception was held at Red Rose Pizzeria in Springfield.

The bride’s father was honored at the wedding with his ashes placed on the bride and groom’s hands. The bride had a piece of one of her father’s shirts sewn into the hem of her wedding dress and a memorial “dad” chair was displayed at the event. The couple took a Caribbean cruise after the wedding.

The bride is a 1991 graduate of Mohawk Trail Regional School and a 1998 graduate of Greenfield Community College’s paramedic program. She is a paramedic with American Medical Response ambulance service based in Greenfield.

The groom is a 1987 graduate of Becker Junior College and has a degree in horticulture. He is a firefighter with Manchester Fire, Rescue, EMS for the town of Manchester, Conn.

The couple will reside at 34 Franklin St. in Shelburne Falls. The bride will use the name Rebecca Houle.
