BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – The Vermont Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel will hear updates on decommissioning activities at the Vermont Yankee’s Vernon site on Thursday.

It will begin at 6 p.m. in the Maria Lawrence Room at the Vermont Agricultural Business Education Center, 11 University Way. The meeting location, which has changed from previous meetings of the panel, is accessible from 98 Old Guilford Road.

Representatives from Entergy and the State of Vermont will be available to address items on the agenda, which had not been posted by press time but is available at  https://publicservice.vermont.gov/sites/dps/files/documents/2018-09-27_VT_NDCAP_Agenda_Final_0.pdf

Meetings of the citizens panel have also addressed the status of pending sale of Vermont Yankee to NorthStar Group Services Inc., which has proposed buying and dismantling the plant, rather than wait for Vermont Yankee owners to do the job after a decades-long cooling off period.

The public can submit comments to the panel in person or by emailing PSD.NDCAP@vermont.gov

Remote Access will be available for the meeting by contacting Tony Leshinskie, Vermont state nuclear engineer, at anthony.leshinskie@vermont.gov or through PSD.NDCAP@vermont.gov by Wednesday at 5 p.m.
