GREENFIELD – Vintage Days is returning for its second year with as many as 18 businesses expected to participate in the annual event aimed at celebrating the city’s “vintage vibe.”

“We have an amazing vintage vibe in Greenfield all the time,” said Greenfield Business Association Director Hannah Rechtschaffen. “If you’ve been looking for a great weekend to get out and explore and find some fun things to do, this is the weekend to do it.”

As part of the weekend-long event, which kicks off Oct. 13, businesses throughout downtown will have special deals, offerings and activities, such as vintage cocktails at Main Street Bar & Grille and The Hangar on Main Street, old-fashioned lemonade at Dawn’s School of Dance on Hope Street, and a 20-50% off sale at Antique Revival on Main Street. Innovintage plans to organize some in-store tastings for customers.

“There’s definitely more participating from businesses this year, so the event is growing a bit,” Rechtschaffen said. “It’s exciting.”

Building on the success of last year, the weekend will feature a vintage car show downtown and a special movie screening at Greenfield Garden Cinemas. Tickets will be a throwback to a past time at $4 per person.

Though a majority of the activity will take place downtown, other participating businesses include the Museum of Our Industrial Heritage on Mead Street, Roundabout Books on Pierce Street, and the Historical Society on Church Street. On Saturday, a trolley will be available downtown from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to take guests to these locations and more.

Rechtschaffen said she can’t wait to see how businesses choose to participate, noting that everyone’s definition of “vintage” is a little different. For some, it’s the 1930s; for others, it’s the 1960s.

“I’m just excited to have a really nice fall weekend that people can get out and walk around,” Rechtschaffen said. “I personally just love vintage everything.”
