TURNERS FALLS — Two drivers were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash along Millers Falls Road on Thursday morning.
Dispatchers received the call at 8:20 a.m., according to Montague Police Detective Peter Lapachinski. Emergency responders found two involved vehicles in the 400 block on Millers Falls Road.
One driver, who was her vehicle’s sole occupant, had to be assisted out of the vehicle by the Turners Falls Fire Department, Lapachinski said. She was then transported by ambulance to a helicopter that landed at the Turners Falls Municipal Airport. Lapachinski was unsure of the helicopter’s destination hospital.
The male operator of the other vehicle was transported from the scene by ambulance, although Lapachinski was unsure the destination hospital. The airbags on both vehicles deployed during the crash, according to Lapachinski.
Responding agencies included the Montague Police Department, Turners Falls Fire Department, American Medical Response (AMR) and Northfield EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
