GREENFIELD — A Turners Falls man accused of sexual abuse was ordered to be held on $100,000 bail.

Jose F. Maysonet, 30, appeared before Judge Michael K. Callan for arraignment in Franklin County Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon, represented by attorney Timothy J. Flynn. He faces two counts of aggravated rape and abuse of a child (five-year age difference) and one count of indecent assault and battery on a person age 14 or over, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.

If he posts bail, Maysonet must disclose his address and phone numbers and avoid unsupervised interactions with anyone under 18.

Flynn requested his client be held in Hampshire County, as he is a longtime Franklin County resident and there have been “some issues at the jail” in Greenfield as a result of the nature of the charges. Callan said he understood and can make a decision in the next couple of weeks.
