Tractor-trailer snaps utility pole; some Greenfield residences without power

GREENFIELD — A tractor-trailer took out some wires and snapped a utility pole at the intersection of Devens and Conway streets Friday morning, temporarily leaving houses without power.

Greenfield Police Sgt. J. Todd Clark explained the driver was attempting to turn right onto Conway Street when the incident occurred. He said there were no injuries.

Eversource was on scene at 9 a.m. to repair the damage. It was estimated that power would be restored by approximately 3:30 p.m.

A police cruiser was parked at the intersection of Conway and Phillips streets to divert traffic around the accident scene.
