Track & field: Mohawk Trail’s Chay Mojallali, Pioneer’s Louise Flagollet pace locals at MTSCA West Heptathlon/Decathlon (PHOTOS)

SOUTH DEERFIELD – Mohawk Trail’s Chay Mojallali and Pioneer’s Louise Flagollet carried the banner for Franklin County athletes at the annual MTSCA West Heptathlon/Decathlon on Tuesday at Frontier Regional School.
Mojallali finished fourth overall in the boys decathlon, amassing 5,331 points. Westfield’s Noah Delgado won the two-day event with 5,604 points, followed by teammates Antonio Adams (5,559) and Stephen Pryor (5,476).
Mojallali was solid in all five events on Tuesday. He was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.91), second in the high jump (1.90 meters), eighth in the shot put (10.40 meters), fourth in the long jump (6.02 meters) and 10th in the 1,500 meters (5:04.90).
Frontier’s Jack Storm was 11th overall with 4,540 points. His best finish on Day 2 came in the 110 hurdles, where he crossed in ninth place (18.58).
Other top 20 finishers from the area on the boys side included Frontier’s Luke Howard (14th), Aidan Valderrama (15th) and Adrien Pazmandy (17th).
Flagollet was also fourth to power the girls competitors, amassing 3,206 points. Northampton’s Ella Hoogendyk was the winner (3,690) by just two points over teammate Camilla Brewer (3,688). Amherst’s Elizabeth Sawicki took third place (3,219).
Flagollet used a third-place finish in the long jump on Tuesday to shore up fourth place overall, as she posted a top leap of 4.63 meters. She was also 43rd in the javelin (10.46m) and seventh in the 800 meters (2:38.33) to close out her outing.
Frontier’s Nicole Plasse was seventh overall (2,891 points), as she used a runner-up finish in the long jump (4.65m) and a third-place finish in the 800 (2:31.64) to move her way up the leaderboard on Day 2.

Pioneer’s Sahana Heilman used a seventh-place long jump performance on Tuesday (4.50m) to crack the top 10 overall with a 10th-place finish (2,822 points).
Mohawk Trail’s Heidi Helenek was 12th overall, while other local top 20 finishers included Frontier’s Josie Fosnot (15th), Madelyn Antes (16th) and Rylan Waskiewicz (18th), as well as Mahar’s Stellina Moore (19th) and Mohawk Trail’s Virginia Krezmien (20th).
