Three arrested on heroin charges

GREENFIELD — A vehicle stopped by State Police for a lights violation, led to the arrest of three people on drug charges early Friday morning, when 66 grams of heroin and other narcotics paraphernalia was found.

The driver of a 2006 Volkswagen Passat, Neil Snow, 35, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., was charged with trafficking heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws. He was also charged with driving without a license and a vehicle lights violation.

The front seat passenger, Karrie Lowrey, 37, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., was charged with heroin trafficking and conspiracy to violate drug laws. A back seat passenger, Damon Clopton, 22, of Bronx, N.Y., was charged with heroin trafficking, conspiracy to violate drug laws and a seat belt violation.

Trooper Anthony Lavigne of the Shelburne State Police Barracks made the traffic stop near Exit 26, assisted by Trooper Sean Noonan and Greenfield Police. Bail for Snow and Clopton was set at $20,000 for each. Bail for Lowrey was set at $10,000.

The traffic stop took place around 12:45 a.m. and the three were to be arraigned Friday in Greenfield District Court.
