GREENFIELD — With Textür Beauty Bar and Textür Blow Out Bar in two towns, owner Carleigh Dlugosz said she wants to bring “a driving energy” to both locations.

Dlugosz, a Turners Falls resident who previously co-owned Lavish on Chapman Street with Jessica Shippee, saw an opportunity to branch out and start her own businesses.

Textür Beauty Bar celebrated its grand opening at 278 Main St. in Greenfield on Friday, with staff greeting guests and offering door prizes, giveaways, five-minute chair massages and light refreshments.

“It’s a good central location,” Dlugosz said of her new Main Street site. “The place we’re in actually used to be Walter’s Beauty Salon, so it feels like a good omen to have a salon back in this space.”

Textür Beauty Bar is a full-service salon, she said, offering haircuts, color, massages, facials and lash extensions.

Meanwhile, Textür Blow Out Bar, which also opened this week, is located at 110 Avenue A in Turners Falls. The blow out bar is more for people who want their hair styled for special occasions like proms or weddings. Both of the new locations offer spray tanning.

“The special occasion services are still offered in Greenfield, but the blow out bar offers a more private space,” Dlugosz explained.

Having worked as a hairstylist for about 13 years, including for three years as co-owner of Lavish, Dlugosz said she wanted to run her own business. She graduated from high school early so she could attend DiGrigoli School of Cosmetology in West Springfield, and went on to get her barber certificate at Rob Roy Academy in Worcester.

“I’ve learned the do’s and don’ts of the industry, and I feel passionately about giving people a place to go to be the best version of themselves,” she said. “I want people to have an experience when they come here, not just an appointment.”

Dlugosz added that she wants Textür Beauty Bar and Textür Blow Out Bar to be inviting and welcoming places for her clients.

“I love giving back to the community and I love that every day is different,” she said. “People look forward to seeing me and my team. I’m really excited to bring some more life and energy to downtown.”

The beauty bar’s staff consists of two stylists (Aleigh Parker and Ciara Chagnon), an aesthetician (Tanya Agapov) and a massage therapist (Karyn Schwartz). Dlugosz cuts hair as well.

At the blow out bar is another group of stylists (Jordan Moore and Nataly Gomez) and makeup artist (Danielle Ethier), but the two groups team up to cater to larger wedding parties.

Dlugosz said she is especially proud to offer a color line that has a keratin complex, which is healthier for hair, and to carry Dermalogica, which is a facial brand that is designed for sensitive skin.

“Our massage therapist offers reiki, cupping and deep tissue massages,” Dlugosz continued. “She has a sports medicine background and can cater to peoples’ injuries. She also ends every massage with a good stretch.”

Both businesses’ hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
